Licence Condition
A trial is to be established, monitored and reported on as follows - That two separate trenches within the wetland system be set up by 1 July 2015, with the same plant species and plant numbers at approximately the same size and age, one with the existing potting media and one with an inert potting media (being Coco Peat CPA-5A), such that the only variable influencing performance will be the potting media The outflow from the two trenches be sampled and tested for Total Phosphorus, Total Nitrogen, Total Suspended Solids, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (5 day), and pH That the testing frequency is as follows: daily for the first five days after the commencement of replacing the potting media with the inert potting media, or until the completion of the replacement of the media, whichever is greater; weekly for the next three weeks after completion of the replacement of the potting media; and, monthly for the next eleven months as a minimum That photographs of the plants in each trench be taken monthly after completion of the replacement of the potting media, for at least twelve months That three, quarterly rolling progress reports be submitted to the EPA within one month of the quarterly period ending. The reports are to consist of the test results for the quarterly period [together with an analysis (including graphical representation) and assessment of the results], photographs taken during the quarterly period, together with the same information as provided for previous quarterly period(s). The three quarterly rolling progress reports are therefore due by the 30 October 2015 (for first quarterly period), 31 January 2016 (for first and second quarterly periods), and 30 April 2016 (for first, second and third quarterly periods) That a final report be prepared and submitted by 30 September 2016, being within three months of the completion of the trial period (30 June 2015). The final report is to include: all photographs taken during the trial; all the trial test results; analysis (including graphical representation) and assessment of all the trial test results; a summary of the performance of the two trenches for the period of the trial; conclusions; and, recommendations
